I’d like to jump back into the blogworld full force but I am leery of making any promises… let’s just say the survey Meredith and Aaron did sparked my ‘reflections’ on the last year; all the changes I’ve endured / enjoyed. I thought it might be enjoyable to return to blogging with an update on the last year of my life.
I’ve lived in four different cities this year: Cleveland, Dothan, Auburn/Opelika, and Chattanooga. I traveled with my church to Peru and never imagined I could learn so much from 7 days in a pickup truck. I taught Spanish to approximately 175 different students. I learned a lot from the book of Hebrews. I learned to trust. I broke up with four roommates and got a new one. I graduated college. I fell in love. I learned more about who I am and found talents God had placed in me that I didn’t know were there. I saw some things that make me mad. Mononucleosis tried to kill me. I was reminded that even if I’m paying my own bills now I will always need my family.
I don’t know why people seem to dislike making resolutions for the upcoming year. I happen to be one who does it every year and love it. Do I always keep my resolutions? Well, no. But sometimes I do and particularly for my lazy and undisciplined self, it’s a good thing.
Here we go . . .
1) Rather than doing a “read through in a year” plan I am going to focus on one book per month. I’m starting with Isaiah.
2) Write lesson plans one week in advance.
3) Keep in touch with the people I love.
4) Go back to Peru.
5) Blog more!
